K4TCG QSL Cards
---------------
Requests have been rolling in for K4TCG QSL cards, thanks to W4PA's
SSB SS operation. It's time to get some cards printed. Folks present
contributed $34.00 for the purchase of QSL cards. W4KH Jack will take
the existing TCG logo from the WWW page, and try to come up with a design
for a TCG QSL card. After the design is completed, we will get the cards
printed somewhere. In the meantime, everyone helped fill out temporary
cards to tahe care of the current requests.

Official Roster
---------------
The TCG Official Roster is now posted on the TCG WWW page. Some
discussion regarding re-wording the membership requirements ensued.
K4RO will try to come with new wording to entitle licensed amateurs to
sustain associate membership status when full membership contest
participation requirements have not been met.

January NAQP Contests
---------------------
It's time once again for the January NAQP contests. These are some
of the most fun contests happening! 150w maximum output -- even
small stations can compete. TCG had a great turnout for both NAQP
contests last year; let's try to do even better this year! Both the
SECC and KCG have promised to give us some real competition in the
team competition this time around; are we ready? Remember there are
five persons per team, and no limit to the number of teams. See the
WWW page for individual and team score summaries from last year's NAQPs.
Also the TCG/KCG Challenge is on in full force. The Top Ten scores from
each Group will determine the winner. Are we ready to defend our title?

Here are the teams we have so far for the January 1997 NAQP contests:

CW Team #1	CW Team #2	CW Team #3
------------	-------------	-------------
N4ZZ	Don	K4AMC	Jim	KD4YDD	Scott
K0EJ	Mark	K1KY	Tom	NY4T	Lee
W9WI	Doug	WD4K	Tom	.
Wo4o	Ric	N4KN	Ira	.
K4RO	Kirk	W4KH	Jack	.

SSB Team #1	SSB Team #2	SSB Team #3
------------	-------------	-------------
N4ZZ	Don	K4AMC	Jim	W4KH	Jack
K0EJ	Mark	Wo4o	Ric	NY4T	Lee
W9WI	Doug	K1KY	Tom	KD4YDD	Scott
K4JNY	Jeff	WD4K	Tom	WD4K	Tom
K4RO	Kirk	KE4YBS	Gail	W4TDB	Vollie

Who else is in for the NAQP contests? Send your plans to play
to the TCG reflector. This is a fun one folks!

Miscellaneous
-------------
Tom K1KY brought several pieces of ICE equipment for "show & tell."
Included were bandpass filters, Beverage preamps, and broadcast band
filters. Several folks present have surely added these items to their
holiday shopping lists. :-) The majority of the meeting was spent just
enjoying the fellowship and swapping tales of interesting propagation
on ten meters during the ARRL 10 meter contest. The W4PA/K4TCG SSB SS
operation got a "special" QSL card. Ask someone who was at the meeting
for details. :-) Once again, a fine time was had by all.

1998 Officers
-------------
In January, the new TCG officers will be elected. So far, K1KY has
stepped up to the plate, and has offered to serve in one of the two TCG
officer positions. This is great news for TCG! Tom possesses a good
deal of technical knowledge and enthusiasm, and we are glad to have
him at the helm. Who else is willing to step up to the plate in 1998?

Epilogue
--------
This marks the final meeting of 1997, and my last function as your
Executive Assistant in 1997. Thanks to all of you who helped make
this a great year for the Tennessee Contest Group. We get out of
contesting exactly what we put into it. Thanks for giving me the
opportunity to serve TCG in this capacity. May the sunspots prosper
and your rate remain high in 1998. Very 73,

-Kirk K4RO
