Topics Discussed
----------------

** Official Roster **

We will be working on compiling an official roster at the end of
the year. The membership requirements are explained on the TCG
WWW page ( http://www.k4ro.net/tcg.html ) under the "Constitution
and By-Laws" section. The official roster will be posted on the
TCG WWW page after it is compiled.

** Field Day **

Ric mentioned that the site we had agreed upon to use for FD,
"Pioneer Park" in Ridgetop has requested a $25.00 fee for the site.
Ric suggested that a few TCGers visit the site to make sure it's what
we want before putting down the money. Wo4o and K0EJ will have a look.
The idea was also suggested that we could simply operate FD as a D or
E class from someone's home station. K4RO offered the use of his
station if there was sufficient interest in this. We may need a FD
chairman, or point person. Anyone interested, or have a nomination?

** Sprint Writeup **

AG9A has asked us for a brief writeup on TCG participation in the
Sprint contests. He would like to include mention of TCG in the
NCJ writeup. K4RO will put together a few paragraphs for him.

** W5ASP Design 2 Radio RX Mixer **

K4RO showed the simple Radio Shack audio switchbox to the group. Using
a simple patch cord arrangement, one can listen to two receivers at
once, or listen to receiver on one band while busy CQing away on another
band. If you don't want to jump full into two-radio operating, just try
using a secondary receiver. It just might land one an extra mult or two.

** TCG Officers for 1998 **

Just a reminder that in January 1998, we will be electing new officers
for TCG. Now is a good time to start thinking about who you want to help
lead TCG in 1998, whether it is yourself or someone else. 1997 has been
a good year for TCG; we need some good leadership to carry us forward
into the future.

** Meeting Programs **

Mike KE4KMG suggested that we might consider having some actual programs
lined up for future meetings. Programs like the basics of setting up
contest software, basic operating tactics, etc. If anyone would like to
present a program to the group or knows someone who would, please step
forward and go for it. What topics would you like to see covered? Does
anyone know L.B Cebik, W4RNL? He supposedly is very knowledgeable about
antennas and modeling. Perhaps he would be interested in giving a talk
on antenna modeling? We all like getting together and just hanging out,
but perhaps a occaisional program would be beneficial.

*** Next Meeting **

Date: Saturday December 20, 1997
Time: 9:30 AM
Place: Old Country Buffet restaurant (probably...)

This will be the last TCG meeting of the year. Thanks for a great 1997!

Good luck on the Phone SS, CW CQWW, ARRL 160, and Top Band Distance
Challenge contests coming up. See you on the bands. 73
